Poppet Valves
Remote or Direct Operated Valves for a Variety of Industrial and Process Needs
Lexair poppet-type valves provide high flow, positive shut-off operation for a variety of industrial and process control needs. Constructed of non-corrosive materials, they can be used with a wide range of liquids and gases where quick-acting control is required.
Positive, bubble-tight shut-off is accomplished by an exclusive poppet-seat design that provides a long lasting, extrusion resistant seal. There’s easy maintenance too, with quick access to valve internal parts without the need for removing in-line piping. Smaller port sized valves have one-piece poppet assemblies that are replaced in seconds. These are important advantages when a valve is installed in hard-to-reach places.
To minimize the pilot pressure required to actuate valves and assure fast operation with viscous media, larger port sizes of solenoid and mechanical models incorporate a dual poppet design. Inlet media flows into the large poppet chamber through orifices so that line pressure is applied in the same direction as the poppet spring to hold both poppets closed. When the valve is actuated, the piston and operating stem readily opens the inner poppet which has a small surface area that requires a minimal force to open. This immediately relieves the large poppet chamber pressure into the valve outlet so that less force is required to open the large poppet as the pin continues its stroke. The entire sequence is instantaneous, insuring fast valve response with minimal operating effort.

TUBE-O-MATIC® Valves (Pinch Valves)
Available in port sizes from 1/4″ to 2 1/2″.
Direct Pilot Operated
Solenoid/Pilot Operated
TUBE-O-MATIC® valves are specially designed for abrasive or corrosive media applications. They are unique pinch valves that feature an airfoil center core that helps facilitate high flow, fast action and longer tube life compared to other typical pinch valves on the market. Working pressures to 150 PSI are standard.
Pinch Valve Concept
The TUBE-O-MATIC has been designed to include the excellent features of the pinch valve without the inherent weaknesses. The TUBE in the TUBE-O-MATIC does not collapse entirely as the tubing does in a pinch valve. The TUBE-O-MATIC closes on the airfoil center core. Thus the movement of the TUBE is substantially reduced, resulting in extended TUBE life.
Bi-Directional
The normally open TUBE-O-MATIC valve design allows media flow in both directions. This feature can prove invaluable in systems requiring both forward and reverse control.
How It Works
The TUBE-O-MATIC tube is controlled by an external pneumatic or hydraulic pilot pressure. To close the valve, pilot pressure is applied, closing the tube around the center core and sealing bubble tight. To open the valve, pilot pressure is exhausted. The small tube deflection permits a high cycle rate, with minimal flow noise and shock-free smooth opening or closing on fluids.
Straight-Thru Flow
This type of flow pattern eliminates the build-up of solids in the valve body. It acts as a self-flushing unit.
Large-Capacity
With a Cv range of 4.0 to 75.0 and pipe sizes available from 1/4” NPT to 2 1/2”NPT TUBE-O-MATIC has a valve to fit your application. The airfoil design of the center core and the straight-through flow pattern result in capacity which compares to ball valves.
Minimum Wear
The only moving part in the TUBE-O-MATIC is the tube and that movement is held to a minimum, by the center core tube support design, giving a long trouble-free life.

Railcar Valves
These subbase mounted 4-way directional control valves were designed specifically to be used on railcars that haul coal, aggregates of many sorts plus other types of bulk materials. The valves feature working pressure to 150 PSI and 3/4″ NPT ports. Long life and trouble free operation are what you can expect from our “Railroad Tough” designs.
Hi-Cyclic® Directional Control Valves
Hi-Cyclic® is a directional control valve line that has become synonymous with operating dependability over many years of service. One reason for such an association to quality is our solid brass body that serves as a strong foundation for durability, allowing our valves to stand up to even the most severe applications. A second reason for them being so rugged is our sleeveless spool-to-body design. Internal restrictions are kept to a minimum, resulting in a very efficient high flow valve. Each spool is individually matched to a body, so Hi-Cyclic® valves function with a precision fit that reduces internal leakage to a minimum. We also use a simple, basic design principle — we keep moving parts and wear points to a minimum.
The key to the product’s versatility is in its modular component design. We use a few basic body styles that can be joined with a number of spool, operator and mounting options to create a magnitude of combinations. Because of our non-ferrous construction, we can handle air or hydraulic oils with pressures from 30” Hg vacuum to 250 PSI in air service, and up to 3000 PSI when used in hydraulic service. Models are available in 1/8” NPT to 1/2” NPT as well as 7/16-20 and 9/16-18 SAE straight thread port sizes with foot or subplate mounts (Magna- Cycle® only). Hi-Cyclic® valves may be specified with almost any type of direct solenoid, direct pilot (air or hydraulic), manual or mechanical operators to meet your specific application requirements.
Hi-Cyclic® valve response characteristics are exceptional, making them ideal where rapid cycling is required. This fast action is due in part to its extremely short spool travel – only 0.217” maximum. Rapid response is also aided by its precision honed body that is individually matched to custom lapped, pressure balanced spools, giving each valve almost frictionless operation and effortless shifting. 2
The valve line features a compact, space saving design. With a maximum body length of only 2 1/4” and a maximum height of only 2 5/8” for foot mounted models, the product line yields an extremely compact envelope size and a low silhouette for installations with limited space.

Mini 1 Pneumatic Valves
The Mini 1 valve line features a high flow, compact design. Although the bodies are only 1” thick and 2” wide, they produce a flow capacity of 1.0 Cv. Mini 1’s feature fast response times due to a short spool travel of only 0.30”. Our patented seal-spacer design yields optimum sealing with minimal squeeze which provides consistent, low friction shifting. The spool is made from durable, corrosion resistant 416 series stainless steel with a high precision finish for maximum seal life. The balanced spool design provides for true multipurpose capability, allowing the use of dual pressures, vacuum or other non-standard piping of the ports. Self-lubricating seals coated with Teflon® based grease allow operation in minimal or even non-lube service.
The line features aluminum bodies with stainless steel spools and unique Buna-N seals. Available models include 3-way (3 port) and 4-way (5 port) bodies. Working pressures to 150 PSI are standard.
Manually Operated, Mechanically Operated, Solenoid Operated & Pilot Operated versions are available.

Solenoid Operators
Lexair solenoid operators are the perfect choice for use with our direct pilot versions of our poppet valves and solenoid operated TUBE-O-MATIC® series. They can also be used as a “stand-alone” 3-way valve for a variety of applications where a compact, high flow valve is needed. These valves are available in a wide range of AC and DC voltages in both standard and explosion-proof versions. Gas or liquids compatible with Buna-N rubber may be used with a working pressure up to 150 PSI standard.
Explosion Proof 3-Way Valve
Lexair’s explosion-proof, 3-way, normally closed solenoid valve is UL listed* for use in hazardous locations. The valve’s soft-seated poppet design provides bubble-tight sealing in air applications.
The male 1/4 NPT outlet port mounts directly on Lexair 2-way and 3-way poppet valves or other pilot operated valves. This provides simple, safe and effective valve operation in hazardous environments.
