Polyurethane Tubing
If Inflexibility, cracks, and punctures have ever plagued your tubing, then it’s time for you to switch to Polyurethane Tubing. PUR tubing provides excellent flexibility and resists the kinds of damage that can lead to dangerous leaks.
Freelin-Wade offers highly versatile PU tubing in a range of sizes, configurations and hardness levels. No matter what your application, we have the right polyurethane tubing for your needs. Our inventory of PUR tubing includes an array of styles.
Ester-based vs. Ether-based Polyurethane Tubing
From the user’s standpoint, ester-based polyurethane tubing is less expensive and provides slightly better fuel and oil resistance; however, it degrades more quickly when exposed to moisture. On the other hand, ether-based tubing also resists fungus growth and it also reduces the chances of deterioration due to contamination or brittleness.
Chemically, both ester-based polyurethane pneumatic tubing and ether-based Fre-Thane® tubing are made from different polyol alcohols that cause similar, but different, reactions in the isocyanate. Both products are commonly found throughout the industrial marketplace.
Fre-Thane® PU Tubing Features & Benefits

Fre-Thane® 90A Multi-Bore Tubing
Multi-Bore tubing is produced using Fre-Thane® polyurethane in a single extrusion. Unlike MCR, it is made in one extrusion which means the tube can only be made in a single color. Unlike MCR, Multi-Bore can’t be separated cleanly and should not be used with push-in fittings.
Fre-Thane® 85A Multi-Bore Tubing
Freelin-Wade’s 85A multi-bore tubing is made with our proprietary Fre-Thane® polyurethane material, which provides superior flexibility with high abrasion and kink resistance. Best of all, our Fre-Thane® multi-bore tubing exhibits exceptional “memory”—it can be stretched and flexed to extremes, and will always return to its original shape.

Multi-Colored Ribbon Coils
Freelin-Wade’s multi-colored ribbon (MCR) coils consist of bonded ribbons ribbon of multi-colored Fre-Thane polyurethane tubing. Our multi-color ribbon tubing is the solution you need for any application where you need to route two or more lines. It offers faster installation times and eliminates the need for spiral wrap or jacketing.
Advantages of Multi-Color Ribbon Coil Tubing
Freelin-Wade multi-color coil tubing is a durable, cost-effective way to color code your tubing lines for identification, tracing, and/or troubleshooting.
Like all of our polyurethane tubing products, our multi-colored ribbon (MCR) coils are designed to withstand the rigors of flexing and stretching. This translates to a long service life with minimal maintenance requirements.
To make our MCR bonded tubing, Freelin-Wade uses a proprietary bonding process technique that attaches the tubing permanently, if needed, while allowing the individual tubes to be separated quickly and easily, leaving no residue behind. An additional advantage of this technique is that users can install push-in style fittings without fear of an incomplete seal.
Multi-Bore Polyurethane Twin Bonded Coils
Dual bonded polyurethane coils are regularly used for transferring fluids and gas products. The multi-tube nature of these products allows for the delivery of increased amounts of fluid or gas without the hassle of larger tubes. Additionally, different types of fluid or gas can also be delivered within the various tubes, which saves space and provides added convenience.
Freelin-Wade’s unique, ether-based Fre-Thane® polyurethane coil tubing offers extreme flexibility, excellent kink resistance and outstanding memory. This polyurethane multi-tube coil can be repeatably stretched and flexed to its limit but will always return to its original shape. Fre-Thane® twin bonded coils are ideal for nearly any coil tubing application.
Additionally, Fre-Thane® is available in numerous colors, and offers the most custom-variation possibilities of any plastic tubing products.
Freelin Wade produces Fre-Thane® polyurethane multi-bore polyurethane coils in a single extrusion. This prevents the individual tubes from separating and creates a sturdier and more secure coiled tubing product. However, this means that all tubes must be the same color.
