The B671 series pneumatic rotary actuator is designed to provide force in a reciprocating, rotational motion. It is ideal for any application requiring constant torque through a rotational distance: rotating or lifting heavy objects, positioning or bending operations. The F672 Series utilizes the same high quality construction found on the B671 Series with the addition of a coupling arrangement for a hydro-check. An F672/hydro-check assembly will provide controlled feed rates and excellent rotational control with pneumatic power through adjustable hydraulic resistance.

The B671/F672 series pneumatic rotary actuator can be powered by shop air or inert gas. The actuators are pre-lubricated at assembly with NLG1 grade 2 grease with outstanding oxidation stability and corrosion resistant additives. This pre-lubrication is intended for use in pneumatic systems where airline lubrication is not used. However, to assure maximum service life of the cylinder, the air supply should be properly filtered and moisture free. The pneumatic rotary actuator can be controlled by any conventional 4-way valve – hand, foot, mechanically or electrically controlled. All four sizes of rotary actuators are designed for direct on-shaft installation – no flexible couplings, cam and roller or chain and sprocket combinations are required.

The rotary actuator/hydro-check combination consists of the F672 series actuator axially linked to an F172-2 or F172-3 series hydro-check. The hydro-check is a precision built adjustable hydraulic resistance unit designed to provide controlled feed rates. When coupled to an actuator, excellent rotational control is attained. The rotary actuator/hydro-check combination provides consistent torque with adjustable hydraulic resistance for a smooth controlled rotational feed rate. Axial couplings of these units eliminate eccentric loading of component parts. These actuators are available in three torque ranges to comply with varying load requirements. The hydro-check is capable of checking axial loads to 3,000 lbs. and is available with many controlling options.

PRN(A) series rotary actuators are available in 9 sizes to handle a range of torque requirements up to 2549 lb-in @ 100 psi. The two-piece machined aluminum body and single piece shaft, vane, and seal incorporate a rounded vane design to virtually eliminate vane seal bypass. A selection of rotation angles and oscillating reference points are available for each model to provide options for both range and orientation. Additional options include mounting brackets, position sensors, and hydraulic shock absorbers. The PTR series rotary actuator is ideal for most pneumatic applications. The PTR Series actuator combines an alloy steel gear set with a high strength, anodized aluminum housing and Parker 3L or 2A Series cylinder components into an actuator suitable for years of trouble free service. The actuator maximizes volumetric efficiency by using self-energizing PolyPak seals. Mechanical efficiency is maximized by using antifriction bearings and Wear-pak® piston technology.

PV series rotary actuators are available in 8 sizes to handle a range of torque requirements, up to 1800 lb-in at 100 psi. The hard coat anodized aluminum construction can be configured as a single vane or double vane design providing options for maximum rotation and maximum torque within the same envelope. Internal bumpers can be used to reduce the maximum rotation to 90° or 180° while stroke adjusters can be used to adapt the rotation angle to the specific needs of the application by setting both the start and stop points.

Available options include single end porting, flange mounting, double ended shaft, cleanroom, and high temperature seals. With a variety of options and configurations, the PV is a very versatile and adaptable rotary actuator.

Rotation stops provide adjustable rotation from 30° to 205° and feature hydraulic shock absorbers or polyurethane bumpers. Optional plug-in style inductive proximity sensors provide an end of rotation signal. A piston magnet option is available for use with hall effect and reed sensors for full rotation position sensing. The body features hard coat anodized aluminum and stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance.

Pneumatic Rotary Rack and Pinion Cylinders – RA Series

The RA is a double‑acting rotary actuator with high torque and compact installation dimensions. The unit is available in 5 different sizes, covering a turning moment range of 20 to 200Nm. As standard, all sizes are available with a turning angle of either 90° or 180°. The actuator has double pistons and toothed piston rods in a rack‑and‑pinion type arrangement that transmits the turning moment to the output shaft. This type of construction gives an even turning moment throughout the rotation movement. The drive shaft is robustly supported in bushings of self‑lubricating plastic with a key way on the output end of the shaft. The opposite end of the shaft has a stub that can be used to accommodate end‑position indication, or to facilitate hand operation of the actuator. The turning limits of the rotary actuator should be determined by external stop lugs, in order to protect the unit from the effects of excessive load inertia. The RA rotary actuator has a cylinder block of natural anodised aluminium with end covers of black anodised aluminium. To facility ease of installation compressed air is fed into the piston chambers via the standardised connection arrangement to EURO standard according to ISO 5211, VDI/VDE 3845 and NAMUR on the side of the unit. Other design variants are available on request including single acting with spring return for 90° rotation, non standard turning angles and optional surface treatments.

The VRS / VRA rotary actuator in bore sizes Ø32 to 125mm with rotation angles of 96°, 186° and 366° converts linear motion into rotary motion via a rack and pinion drive with male or female output shaft and adjustable pneumatic cushioning. Suitable for applications such as door / gate opening and closing, clamping and agitation of fluids and raw materials. Theoretical torque up to 460Nm
The VRS / VRA rotary actuator converts linear motion of 2 single acting opposing cylinders into rotary motion via a rack and pinion drive contained within the cylinder body. Drive is transmitted via a male or female output shaft and adjustable pneumatic cushioning helps to protect the unit from the effects of excessive load inertia. Optional angle adjustment stops can be added to both, or either endplate, allowing 15° adjustment of the rotation angle and port positions can be specified on any face to facilitate ease of installation. Anodised aluminium body, tube and end plates offers a good resistance to corrosion. For more aggressive, corrosive environments the VRA version in bores Ø32 to 80mm has a stainless steel pinion contained in a silicon sealed waterproof enclosure. Stainless steel ball bearings, circlips, tie rods and screws add to the overall protection level. VRS / VRA versions are standard temperature -10°C to +60°C. Both units can be supplied fitted with a magnetic piston and an optional sensor bracket clamps to the cylinder profile to allow the fitting of P8S sensors for position detection.

P1V-A is a range of air motors intended for heavy and demanding applications. The motor housings are made from painted cast iron, and the components sealed to permit operation in damp and dirty environments.
The range contains six different sizes with power ratings of 1600, 3200, 5000, 6000, 9000 and 18000 Watts. Motors with power ratings from 1600 to 6000 Watts can be supplied with built-in gearboxes, either planetary, helical (spur) or worm drives, to provide the correct speed of rotation and torque. ATEX certified versions for environments with an explosive atmosphere are available for models P1V-A160, P1V-A320, P1V-A500, P1V-A600.
Basic motors: All pneumatic motors are equipped with spring loaded vanes as standard, which gives the motors very good starting and low speed running characteristics. The simple construction of the motors makes them very reliable, with long service life and they are easy to service.
Motors with planetary gears: A P1V-A combined with a planetary gear has small installation dimensions, low weight in relation to performance, free installation position, flange mounting as standard, in line output shaft and high efficiency. They are available with shaft speeds ranging from 190 to 600rpm, with torques ranging from 32 to 84Nm.
Motors with helical (spur) gears: A P1V-A combined with a helical gear has high efficiency, simple installation with flange or foot, and competitive pricing. They are available with shaft speeds ranging from 18 to 625rpm, with torques ranging from 24 to 2460Nm. Oil-bath gears mean that the installation position must be decided beforehand. The installation position governs the amount of oil in the gearbox and the location of the filling and drain plug.
Motors with worm gears: A P1V-A combined with a worm drive gear has the following characteristics: gearboxes with high gear ratios are self locking, which means that they can be used to maintain the output shaft in position, simple installation with the flange on the left or right sides or with a foot, small installation dimensions and competitive pricing. They are available with shaft speeds ranging from 37 to 350rpm, with torques ranging from 40 to 980Nm. Oil-bath gears mean that the installation position must be decided beforehand. The installation position governs the amount of oil in the gearbox and the location of the filling and drain plug.
Holding brakes: Fitted to the front of motors without gearboxes and can be ordered pre-assembled to the motor or as an optional item.

P1V-M is a series of air motors robustness makes it suitable for all normal air motor applications. The range contains five different sizes with power ratings of 200, 400, 600, 900 and 1200 Watts with planetary gearbox and motor made of grey casted iron. The gearbox is of the planetary type, permanently lubricated with grease. The flange mounting is cast as an integral part of the case, and give, together with the foot bracket, plenty of opportunity for simple and robust installation.
The motor and gearbox are built to be extremely strong, making the motors suitable for compact applications. A new design principle has made service activities quicker and easier than for any comparable motor. Servicing involves loosening the screws holding the rear piece to the motor, removing the worn vanes from the back and inserting the new vanes. Unlike traditional air motors, there is no need to fully open the P1V-M for servicing, making the process much easier.

P1VAS is a range of stainless steel air motors in six different sizes, with power ranging from 120 to 1600 Watts and speeds from 50 to 22000 rpm. The air motor and planetary reduction gear are built into a polished stainless steel housing that is sealed by a fluorocarbon rubber O-ring. The output shaft, which is made of polished stainless steel, is also sealed by a fluorocarbon rubber seal. Thanks to the cylindrical shape, there are no pockets that can accumulate dirt or bacteria. The P1VAS series is designed to be operated at intermittent intervals under non-lubricated conditions.
With all external components made of stainless steel meaning that they can be used in food grade applications and other environments where there is a risk of corrosion. The choice of materials reflects the fact that aggressive cleaning materials are used in food grade applications.

Parker - Hydraulic Rotary Actuator - HTR Series
The HTR Series rotary actuator incorporates many hydraulic and mechanical features that make this actuator both robust and ideal for the most demanding high production applications. These features include high load capability tapered roller bearings; a chrome alloy steel rack and pinion gear set; a high strength ductile iron or steel housing; and proven Parker Hannifin cylinder components. The HTR Series actuators have been successfully employed in automotive plant production machinery; machine tool equipment; plastics and rubber processing machinery; basic metals production machinery and in material handling machinery.

The HTR Series can be employed as an integral machine component, where the actuator can simultaneously transmit torque and support the line shaft or the load. Such an arrangement allows for the elimination of one set of external support bearings. Optional cushions can also be incorporated to decelerate external loads, thus eliminating the need for an external deceleration device such as shock absorbers or brakes. Additionally, machine installations can be simplified with the hollow shaft feature by eliminating additional coupling. This is achieved by means of a square shaft key or if needed the housing can be drilled and tapped to mount various brackets. For easy serviceability, the piston seals can be inspected and replaced while the actuator remains installed on the machinery.

The LTR series rotary actuator is ideal for low pressure hydraulic applications. The LTR Series actuator combines an alloy steel gear set with a high strength aluminum housing and Parker 3L or 2A Series cylinder components into an actuator suitable for years of trouble free service. The actuator maximizes volumetric efficiency by using self-energizing PolyPak seals. Mechanical efficiency is maximized by using antifriction bearings and Wear-pak® piston technology.

Designed to meet steel mill specifications, these non-tie rod units incorporate a range of features that provide heavy duty dependable service. The heat treated pinions provide low tooth contact pressures and permit hollow shaft configurations with bore sizes capable of transmitting full operating torques, including shock loadings. The M Series units are fitted with wear ring bushings that provide full support and eliminate the possibility of contact between the cylinder and piston. The large diameter tapered roller bearings on the pinion allow the actuator to absorb considerable thrust, radial and overhung loads. For ease of maintenance, all pressure seals on M Series can be inspected or replaced without removing the actuator from the customer’s shaft.

Tork-Mor series actuators are produced in eighteen sizes generating up to 145,000 lb-in of torque at rated pressure. Capable of providing full torque instantly in either direction, they are available with 100° or 280° rotation at pressures up to 1000 psi. The Tork-Mor series can be mounted in any axis using a wide variety of standard or optional mountings. Proven reliable through many years of field service, the Tork-Mor series incorporates many quality features including precision ball bearings to provide shaft support, externally removable gland for ease of seal replacement, and cylinders honed to a 10 micro inch finish to ensure long seal life.
