Flexible Pneumatic Cable Actuators for Remote Linear Motion
Tolomatic cable cylinder actuators provide flexible pneumatic linear motion when the actuator needs to be isolated from the work area or positioned away from the driven load. Extended cable lengths allow the cylinder to be installed in locations that would be difficult to reach with conventional rod-style or rodless actuators, providing greater flexibility for machine design and linear motion applications.
Four cable cylinder configurations are available to match different application requirements: double acting, single acting, double purchase, and track. These designs provide options for remote actuation, positioning, material handling, and other industrial automation applications.

Long-Stroke Double-Acting Pneumatic Cable Cylinder Actuator
Tolomatic double-acting pneumatic cable cylinder actuators provide a space-saving alternative to conventional rod cylinders for long-stroke applications. With strokes up to 7308 mm (287 in.), these cable actuators can reduce costs on applications requiring extended travel, with couplers allowing stroke lengths up to 18 m (720 in.).
A wide selection of bore sizes, construction materials, and options makes the double-acting cable cylinder adaptable to different pneumatic linear motion requirements. Auto tensioners help maintain cable rigidity, while an optional caliper disc brake provides additional holding force for vertical applications.

Tolomatic double purchase pulley cable cylinder actuators extend the capabilities of double-acting pneumatic cable cylinders by doubling stroke and velocity without increasing actuator space requirements. This design provides a practical solution for applications requiring extremely long linear travel, with stroke lengths up to 120 ft. (36.5 m).
The pulley configuration also allows the actuator to be positioned away from hostile or demanding environments while delivering motion to the required work area. Multiple tube materials and options provide flexibility for different pneumatic automation and material handling applications.

Tolomatic track cable cylinder actuators combine pneumatic cable-cylinder motion with a pre-engineered guide and support system for applications requiring greater load capacity and controlled linear movement. The integrated track provides a larger bearing surface than other cable cylinder configurations, allowing the actuator to support larger loads while maintaining smooth motion.
Precision linear ball bearings running on hardened, ground steel shafts provide the guided movement, while aluminum bearing blocks support the load.
