Pneumatic Air Cylinders
Nason manufactures compact pneumatic cylinders and linear actuators for the most demanding applications.
Nason pneumatic cylinders, also known as air cylinders, use compressed air to activate internal pistons and move them along a linear path. Nason’s compact pneumatic cylinders are highly efficient, delivering the same power as larger competitive products in a smaller package.
These air cylinders are manufactured in the USA from aluminum or stainless-steel bar stock, providing significantly more cycles of productive service than other cylinders. In addition to using the highest quality materials, the bore is honed to a mirror finish to optimize performance and lengthen the life of the seals.

CR Series Stainless Steel Pneumatic Cylinders

Nason’s CR series stainless steel pneumatic cylinders are designed for smooth startup and operation. Constructed with low-friction Nitrile seals and factory lubricated with FDA-complaint food-grade PTFE-impregnated grease, the stainless steel cylinders’ precision-machined components and low-friction bearings ensure long life and effortless operation.
Unlike aluminum or other metals, the stainless steel in the CR Series is non-porous and highly resistant to corrosion. This makes these stainless steel cylinders ideal for applications that require strict compliance to purity and quality standards, such as pharmaceutical and food preparation, or areas that need to stand up to punishing elements, such as wash-down environments.
- Compact size
- Clean design – the smooth exteriors eliminate areas that tend to trap dirt or grease
- Rugged construction – thick-walled 303 stainless steel housings and caps with hardened 302 stainless steel retaining wires. Rugged chrome-plated 303 stainless steel rods
- Rebuildable – field-repairable
- Versatile design – available in metric bore and rod sizes with inch or metric mounting and porting
- Magnetic piston option – allow end-of-stroke position sensing with Nason’s “S” series sensors
